The winner of the May Entrepreneur of the Month Award, co-sponsored by the Chamber and the Atlanta Journal Constitution, has been a member of the Chamber since 2007.

Janet Wheeler and her husband, Kurt, own Vine & Branches, a full service florist as well as a gift and home décor store located at the corner of Highway 140 and East Cherokee Drive in the Hickory Flat community. The store opened in 2007 with a mission to establish trusted, long-term relationships with customers by providing one-of-a-kind floral products and superior service.  When visiting Vine & Branches you’ll discover gifts and home accessories that include everything from candles to prints to monogrammed items.  You’ll also find an imaginative staff that can make creative suggestions regarding fresh cut flowers, plants, gift and gourmet baskets, wedding design and consultation, permanent and fresh sympathy arrangements.

Janet and Kurt, both life-long residents of Cherokee County, believe in serving the community through volunteer work, as well as looking for ways to give back by gifting to various charities.  This year, for example, they are donating 10% of their earnings from the sale of school prom flowers to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.  They also donate flowers weekly for the dining room tables at Cameron Hall.  How ironic that they are today’s sponsor!

Active in the Chamber, Kurt is a graduate of Leadership Cherokee and Janet is in this year’s Leadership class and is also a member of the Chairman’s Council.  In addition, Janet is a member of the Service League of Cherokee County and is a member of their Board of Directors.  www.vineandbranches.net
